What Worked

  • Engaging language: “megastar”, “damning”, and “clapped back”, to name a few
  • Clear Explanation: The article uses quotes from the letters referenced and provides relevant background information 
  • Effective Multimedia: This was one of the only articles I’ve seen that also included a picture of the boy the lawsuit is against, as well as the only person (Taylor Swift involved). It also includes photos of the letters described in the article.

What Didn’t Work

  • Sentence Structure: Multiple paragraphs are one sentence when many could be combined.
  • Biased tone/Lack of differing perspectives: The article provides little perspective from Swift’s side and appears to have a bias towards Sweeney’s side. Also, I think incorporating public opinions would have benefited the article.
